Yoga by the Lune
Claire from The Yoga by the Lune
I approached Claire to get involved in a campaign I was running to celebrate Yoga by the Lune turning one. To do this I wanted to bring together brands that have supported Yoga by the Lune, which are sustainable, ethical and either local or the UK based, showcasing community and connection.
Yoga by the Lune is a brand that encompasses all aspects of Yoga - combining classes, events, experiences and creating a meaningful connection to focus on a better way of living. Through providing you with access to the tools that help support you. Breaking down the western stereotypes of “wellness” and focusing on “you” the authentic “you” bringing wholeness and well-rounded look.
Claire asked me to share the vision and aims of the brand shoot, the images required ranged from products to yoga poses and portrait shots. I also, wanted the outdoors / nature to be a big part of this.
The challenge in this was to showcases all the brands under one look, whilst having community and collaboration at the heart of this, and capturing the essence of Yoga by the Lune.
We needed to get creative and with Claire’s background in marketing + pr she instantly got where we needed to go, why and what needed to be achieved. From this Claire prepared ideas and locations for the shoot but was fluid in the process adapting when needed. Claire checked throughout the shoot that I was happy with the direction and we were getting what we needed when some shots didn’t go as expected we changed it up. It was great to work with someone that could think on the spot and solve any problems that came up.
Claire made me feel comfortable in front of the camera and provided direction when needed, I am not used to having my photograph taken, definitely no model! We worked until we got all the shots needed.
The post-production was just as thorough as the shoot, Claire sent a selection of images to make sure I was happy with the look before refining and working through all the shots agreed. It was an easy and enjoyable process, I really felt like I was in safe hands.
I love the outcome and it has been really well received over social media with lots of lovely comments.
I would highly recommend Claire if you are looking for great quality and someone who gets behind the why rather than just taking the photos. Claire offers ideas to get the best out of the shoot and makes sure you are happy with the outcome, working with you the whole way." ~ Claire Braithwaite, founder of Yoga by the Lune.

I was looking for a photographer to help us capture our handknit designs modeled by non-professional models in realistic settings rather than highly styled fashion shots. Claire's work on her website had several examples of lifestyle images of people doing everyday activities. The subjects were not posing and it was easy to imagine our products in similar scenarios.
I hired Claire because she proposed an approach to the photoshoot that met our objectives of highlighting the garments worn rather than the wearer of the garments. Claire's applied her marketing background to understand our audience and come up with a solution that spoke to their needs.
Specifically, we were looking to improve the ability of our customers to relate to the products in the images. Claire's idea was to create frames where the model was interacting with other people in a natural setting, giving an overall realistic feeling. We've always tried to achieve a sense of place in our images, but prior photoshoots of models on a mountain or lakeside made it difficult for our average customer to relate or place themselves in that environment.
Claire suggested having our Lake District home in the background rather than having it as the main feature.
And finally impact of the shoot on your audience and sales. I understand you may wish to keep sales figures private, but I would like to try and
The end result was spot on! Our audience reacted favourably as evidenced with above-average sales upon release of the product.
